Amid rising tensions in West Asia, EAM S Jaishankar on Wednesday held talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov and EU foreign policy chief Kaza Callas. He had a similar conversation with his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barot.“A good telecon with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Shared our assessment of the West Asian conflict and related diplomatic efforts. Also stocked our bilateral cooperation agenda,” Jaishankar said at X.According to a Russian readout, the ministers advocated normalizing the situation in Iran as soon as possible. “Emphasis was placed on supporting the contribution of the SCO and BRICS to efforts to de-escalate the situation and create conditions for achieving a sustainable settlement based on balancing the legitimate interests of all parties,” the readout said.
