Uttarakhand CM Dhami inaugurates Rs 147 crore development projects in Haldwani | India News
Haldwani (Uttrakhand): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday attended a function at Sushila Tiwari Government Medical College, Haldwani, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 40 development projects worth Rs 147.28 crore. According to the release, this includes inauguration of 23 projects worth Rs 72.38 crore and foundation stone laying of 17 projects worth Rs 74.90 crore.The Chief Minister said that these projects will accelerate the pace of development of Nainital district. He said that the state government is working fast towards building a “better Uttarakhand” and the state is constantly improving in all areas. Several historic decisions taken by the government, he added, are serving as inspiration for other states.He also said that the government is determined to protect the state’s heritage along with development. Asserting that the only objective was to take Uttarakhand forward, he reiterated that the government had implemented landmark decisions like the landmark civil code, a strict anti-copying law and an anti-conversion law. He reiterated his promise that no one would be allowed to interfere with the state’s culture, tradition and sanctity.Among the 23 projects inaugurated were: a 30m span motor bridge over the Shipra River; a technology lab at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Haldwani; construction of tube wells at Kotabagh, Mahadevpuram, Jhaluwajhala, Belpokhra and Belpadav; construction of a laboratory in women’s college; Installation of stabilizers in tubewells at Lalkuan; 14 drinking water projects under Jaljivan Mission — Haripur Lachi, Kalupur Pokhria, Jitpur Raikwala, Debaltalla, Bhavan Singh Nawad, Vasantpur, Kishanpur Raikwala, Chorgalia Amkheda, Jairam Parma, Haldauchur Jaggi, Bhavanipur, Bhagwanpur, Badgapur Krishna and Padgapur; and construction of a building at the Veterinary Hospital in Ramgarh, among other works, as stated in the release. On the occasion, under Chief Minister’s Declaration, Consent and Special Plan Assistance (SPA) programme, he also performed Bhoomi Puja of Haldwani-Kathgodam Source and Treatment Augmented Drinking Water Project, sanctioned at a total cost of Rs 154.43 crore.
