New Delhi: Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda’s comments that India’s raw talent in the IT sector ended up serving others when the country itself could not capitalize on it came under fire. BJPWhich called it another example of the opposition hurting India.“We have young talent but it’s raw. What happened to the software industry? We produced a lot of talent but it ultimately helped global multinationals… we couldn’t benefit. We couldn’t build a social media network, a company like Microsoft or even an operating system,” he said in comments that have gone viral. “We use our talents to serve others,” Pitroda said. While the US is the undisputed leader in AI and China is close behind, the rest are nowhere near as much noise, he said.BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla hit back. “So after the topless act of Congress, now comes Lashkar-e-Congress chief adviser – Sam Pitroda,” he said in reference to the controversial shirtless protest by Youth Congress members at the Global AI Summit on Friday. He accused Pitroda of lying to hurt India. He mentions operating systems like BOSS Linux, Maya OS and Prime OS. “Unfortunately the only mission of the Congress is to destroy India with lies,” said the BJP official.
