Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, Iran has made its position clear on the peace proposal sent by America. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Tehran is reviewing the US proposal, but it does not mean any direct talks or agreement with Washington.
Speaking to state television, Araghchi made it clear that exchanging messages through backchannel is not formal diplomacy. He said bluntly, ‘No talks are taking place with America.’
Araghchi confirmed that the US is sending messages through intermediaries, who are being monitored by Iran’s top leadership. However, he clarified that Iran does not intend to have any formal dialogue with the US at this stage.

He said that Washington is sending messages through different mediums, but Tehran does not consider it a formal dialogue. He also claimed that America has failed to achieve its goals in this conflict. According to him, America could neither achieve quick victory nor bring about a change of power in Iran.
The Iranian minister further said that Iran has demonstrated its strength and has shown the world that no country can threaten its security. He also said that Iran does not want to prolong the war, but the solution will be on its own terms. He said, ‘Iran does not want war, it wants a permanent end to this conflict.’
