Anti-terrorist agencies have got great success in Uttar Pradesh. UP ATS and STF have made many important arrests while uncovering the suspected terrorist network. Under this action, Uwaid Malik and Jalal Haider alias Sameer have been arrested from Bijnor, while two other accused—Maijul (South Africa) and Azad (Saudi Arabia)—are absconding. Against whom a lookout circular has been issued.
The accused were working with the intention of spreading instability in the country.
According to the investigating agencies, this network was active through social media. The accused came in contact with Aaqib sitting in Dubai and got attracted towards radicalism and started plotting violent activities in the country. During interrogation, it was revealed that these people were not only planning to expand the network, but were also working with the intention of spreading instability in the country.
Earlier on April 2, ATS had arrested four other suspects from Meerut and Gautam Buddha Nagar. The investigation also revealed that all the accused together were planning a blast at Lucknow railway station. This major incident was averted by security agencies taking timely action.
Aaqib had international contacts
Important information has also come to light regarding Aaqib’s international relations. It is being told that he was in touch with Pakistani handlers while sitting in Dubai. In a viral video in November 2025, AK-47 and grenades were displayed by Aaqib and his associates, which had earlier raised suspicions among the agencies. Although an FR was lodged in the case at that time, the case was reopened on the basis of new evidence.
At present, the process of canceling the passports of the accused is going on and the search for Sameer alias Ruhaan of Najibabad has been intensified. ATS claims that he will also be arrested soon.
