Police have busted a large-scale gambling den in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh. This base was being operated in a garden in Siwan of Semra village of Mughalsarai Kotwali area. In the police raid, 14 gamblers were arrested, while more than three dozen people fled from the spot.
During the raid, the police recovered more than Rs 1 lakh 17 thousand in cash and decks of cards from the spot. Apart from this, 52 motorcycles were also seized, which the gamblers had left on the spot and ran away. To bring these vehicles to the police station, the police had to take the help of two tractors.
According to the information, Mughalsarai Kotwali police had received secret information that a big gambling game was going on in the area. After this, the police and surveillance team took joint action late on Tuesday evening and raided the garden. As soon as they saw the police, there was panic among the people present there and many gamblers started running away, but the police chased them and caught 14 people.
In this case, Arun Kumar Singh said that it was an organized gang, against which a case has been registered under relevant sections. The arrested accused have been sent to jail, while the search for the absconding gamblers is going on.
