Actor Paresh Rawal has confirmed that the film Malamaal Weekly 2 is being made. He recently said that he is a part of this project. He said this to Hindustan Times. However, the official announcement of the film has not been made yet. According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, the makers have prepared a new concept for the second part of ‘Malamaal Weekly’, which will not directly take the first story forward, but will present the franchise in a new style. This time, there will be different characters and a new environment, but the story will revolve around a group of villagers who will make strange attempts to get a huge amount of money, said sources contacted by Rajpal and Ritesh. Paresh Rawal has given his consent for the film, while Rajpal Yadav and Riteish Deshmukh have also been approached. The film was released in 2006. Let us tell you that Malamaal Weekly was released in the year 2006 and it was directed by Priyadarshan. Late actors Om Puri, Asrani, Rajpal Yadav and Ritesh Deshmukh were in lead roles in this film. The film received mixed reviews from critics, but was a box office success. Made on a budget of Rs 7 crore, the film earned approximately Rs 42.7 crore. This film was based on the Hollywood film Waking Ned (1998). Its story has also been remade in other languages, including Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw (2006) in Telugu, Dakota Picture (2012) in Kannada, and Amayum Muyalum (2014) in Malayalam. The story of the film revolves around the village of Laholi, where Paresh Rawal, playing the character of Leelaram, learns that a villager had won a lottery of Rs 1 crore, but died. After this, there is chaos in the village as everyone wants a share in the reward money. Talking about Paresh Rawal’s work front, he will be seen with Akshay Kumar in the film ‘Bhoot Bangla’ directed by Priyadarshan. This film will be released on 10 April 2026. Apart from this, he will be seen once again in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. He is also a part of ‘Bhaagam Part 2’.
