Tejas incident: Minor glitch, not a crash, says HAL | India News

BENGALURU: Dismissing reports of a light combat aircraft (LCA) Tejas fighter being lost in an accident earlier this month, defense PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) on Monday said the LCA maintains one of the best safety records in the world.“HAL acknowledges the recent media reports on the LCA Tejas incident and wishes to provide a genuine explanation. No mishap of the LCA Tejas was reported. The event in question was a minor technical incident on the ground,” the PSU said.

It added: “The LCA Tejas maintains one of the world’s best safety records among contemporary fighter jets. As a standard operating procedure, the issue is being analyzed in depth and is working closely with HAL. Indian Air Force (IAF) for quick resolution.”
