New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Udayanidhi Stalin He said the DMK “does not fear the Prime Minister or his father.”Addressing a DMK youth wing event in Coimbatore, Udayanidhi said, “Whenever Modi appears on television, people get scared of what he is going to announce. Modi’s demonetisation and corona (lockdown) announcements have panicked people. But if Stalin appears on TV, people are happy with the new announcement scheme. We will never give up our rights for the welfare of Tamil Nadu. We will not fear PM Modi, even if PM Modi’s father doesn’t come. The comment drew a sharp response from the Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing its leaders of making repeated personal attacks on the prime minister and her family.BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla alleged that Udayanidhi Stalin had earlier made controversial remarks against the Hindu community and was now targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late father.“Congress went shirtless, topless and characterless in the way it protested at the AI summit. In fact, it was not a protest at all; it was a disruption. And now the DMK, its ally, has become unintelligent, unprincipled and unethical. Udayanidhi called out Stalin, who threatened the lives of Hindus and targeted Hindus for genocide, father of the Prime Minister.” Dr. Poonawalla.“Imagine, during Bihar elections, India Alliance targeted and abused his mother. They used more than 150 abusive words, especially against his mother and father, especially because he is from the OBC community,” he added.“They abused his family and his background. They mocked him as Chawala. They said he threatened to die or be killed using violent language like “Modi, teri kabar khudegi” and “lathi dande”. Now, Udayanidhi Stalin, who has said that he wants to exterminate Hindus and exterminate Sanatan, and for which the High Court has come down heavily on him, has made such a malicious statement. And now he is abusing the Prime Minister’s late father. It shows the journey from shirtless to shameless, characterless to emotionless. It is a directionless India alliance. They talk about the Constitution, but they are nothing but ‘gali ki dukan’,” Poonawalla added.Tamil Nadu will go to polls in the first half of 2026, which will see the MK Stalin-led alliance project the ‘Dravid Model 2.0’ to win against the BJP-AIADMK alliance.Actor-politician Vijay’s entry with his Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) is expected to turn the Tamil Nadu elections into a three-way contest.
