Actor Sudhanshu Pandey is in the news these days about Colors’ new show ‘Do Duniya Ek Dil’. In this show, he is seen in a character named Baldev, whose life is entangled between the conflict of digital and real world. The show depicts issues like online scams, digital fraud and the growing impact of technology through drama. While talking to Dainik Bhaskar, Sudhanshu Pandey spoke openly on the advantages and disadvantages of technology, increasing cases of digital fraud, changing storytelling and big projects like ‘Toxic’ and ‘Dhurandhar’. Here are some special excerpts from the conversation with Sudhanshu Pandey.. Question: ‘Two Worlds One Heart’ shows the clash of digital and real world. Do you think technology today is strengthening relationships or making them more complicated? Answer: I have always believed that as much as digital technology is a boon for us, it can also become a big curse. It completely depends on us whether we use it for our benefit or harm. Therefore, it is very important to understand what use technology is in our lives and how much we should depend on it. If we become completely dependent on it without thinking, it can also harm us. Question: Nowadays many cases of digital fraud and online scams are coming to light. How do you think families should make children aware about this? Has anything like this ever happened around you? Answer: I have heard many such stories around me, where people have suffered huge losses. Some people lost up to Rs 60-70 lakh. I think people understand, but the awareness is still not as high as it should be. Scams happen constantly. Through phone, message and link. You will be careful ten times, but if for the eleventh time you click on a link out of emotion, it can cause harm. Therefore conscious awareness is very important. Our show also brings out the same issue through a human story and drama, which shows how people get trapped and how they can avoid it by being alert. Question: You have been working in the industry for a long time. Do you think today’s stories have become darker and more realistic than before? Answer: No, I believe that in every era, stories have been told according to the same time. Some stories were ahead of their time. The only difference is that today the mediums have increased a lot. Different platforms have come. Therefore the demand and diversity of stories has also increased. Today filmmakers have more scope to tell different types of stories. This is the reason why now such topics are coming to the fore which were less explored earlier. These include realistic, fantasy and many different types of subjects. Question: Nowadays, big projects like ‘Toxic’ and ‘Dhurandhar’ are in discussion, in which characters with gray shades are seen. Where does your character of Baldev in ‘Do Duniya Ek Dil’ fit into this trend? Answer: Look, I personally never followed trends in my life. To say that in today’s time when films like Dhurandhar are coming, where negative characters are being glorified, then where does Baldev’s character fit in? If he is fitting naturally in this era, then it is a good thing. Because this is also a character with gray shades. But I can’t do something just because it’s trending. I have never done anything in my life which was done just by looking at the trend. I always try to start a new trend in whatever work I do. In the past too, a different trend was seen from the characters I have played. So my hope is that the character I am playing in this show can also start a new trend among the audience.
