Special discussion on mature love in the time of reel culture: Saurabh Jain and Sheen Das said – Relationships work only with respect and patience.

Saurabh Raj Jain and Sheen Savita Das are in the news these days for the web series Sanmarmar. In a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, both the actors spoke openly about the love, patience and depth of relationships in the changing times through their characters Amrita and Aditya. He told that true love is not only the name of living together, but also the name of respect, understanding and fulfilling responsibilities. In today’s time of ‘reel culture’ and quick decisions, he believes that the real strength of relationships lies in patience and mutual respect. While sharing their personal experiences, both of them also told what assumptions they had to face in their journey to move beyond TV. Also, he described the experience of working with Sooraj Barjatya as like family. Here are some highlights… Question: Sheen, how similar is your character to your real life? Answer/Sheen: I think emotionally me and Amrita (my character) are a bit sensitive. The difference is that Amrita first understands the matter, assimilates it within herself and then reacts. But I respond immediately. I myself want to learn the same thing, first understand the matter and then answer. Question: Saurabh, how much is your character Aditya similar to you? Answer/Saurabh: Aditya feels very much like me. Understanding relationships and respecting them is also very important to me. In childhood, we all take decisions impulsively and then learn from them. Aditya’s journey is also similar. That’s why this character is very relatable and personal to me. Question: What would you like to say about love in changing times? And how relevant is this story? Answer/Sheen: There is an old saying that it is easy to love, but difficult to keep. Only those who fulfill it truly win. Amrita and Aditya have fulfilled their love. They did not need marriage for the society, because their relationship was deep and true. However, due to circumstances, Amrita had to choose a different path to fulfill the responsibilities of her family. But Aditya did not leave him. He gave him freedom to move forward. This story is about the balance between dreams and responsibilities. Life doesn’t always go in a straight line. Love and responsibilities do not always go together. This is the beauty of this story. Question: How important is waiting and patience in today’s era of ‘getting everything instantly’? Answer/Saurabh: In my opinion, whatever be the age of love, its basis is only one, respect. Where there is respect, there is patience also. There can be no respect without patience. The one who understands this, loves truly. Love has no meaning for someone who just wants to spend time. Question: Nowadays there is talk of ‘Alpha Male’. In such a situation, how relevant is a simple and sensitive boy like Aditya? Answer/Saurabh: I think one calm and balanced person is enough among ten aggressive people. In true love, it is not violence that is important, but values and responsibility. Being empowered doesn’t just mean thinking about yourself. Real empowerment is when you understand your responsibilities along with your dreams. Aditya and Amrita’s journey teaches this. Question: Artists who come from TV to films and other platforms have to bear the tag of ‘TV artiste’. Did this happen to you? Answer/Sheen: Sometimes people say that. But I believe that I will do films with the same dedication with which I do TV. TV actors have a good habit of discipline, remembering dialogues and respecting time. Therefore this experience makes us stronger. People may have different opinions, but it doesn’t matter to me. Saurabh: Yes, such assumptions exist. But I believe that when your time comes, everything falls into place. If the time has not come, we can count many reasons. But at the right time everything gets sorted out automatically. Question: How was the experience of working with Rajshree family? And what did you learn from Suraj ji? A/N: When I did my first show with him, he told me not to worry about TRP, just enjoy the process. I was surprised to hear this. It was very inspiring for such a big producer to say this. Even today, when he calls, it feels as if the call has come from home. Saurabh: Earlier I had worked in a small role in ‘Yahan Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli’, and this time I got a bigger opportunity. When I met him for the first time, I thought an assistant would come and explain the character. But he himself came to my make-up room and explained the context of the character. His passion for his work and the way he treats everyone is very inspiring. In today’s time where respect is considered a show off, by being with them one realizes what true respect is like.
