Rohit Shetty firing case: Anti-extortion cell arrested another accused, had provided weapons to the shooter; Main accused still absconding




Four rounds of firing took place outside the house of film director Rohit Shetty in Mumbai late Saturday night. Now the Anti-Extortion Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch has taken action in this matter. The team has arrested one more person, after which a total of 5 accused are in police custody in this case. However, the main accused who opened fire at Rohit’s house is still absconding. The accused arrested by the Anti-Extortion Cell had supplied the same weapon which was used in the firing at Rohit Shetty’s house. The team of Mumbai Crime Branch will present the accused in the Fort Court of Mumbai today and will demand his police custody. Earlier, four other accused were arrested, whose police custody is ending today. The four accused are residents of Pune. The four accused arrested on February 2 in this case were identified. The arrested accused are residents of Pune. Their names are Aditya Dnyaneshwar Gaikwad (19 years), Siddharth Deepak Yenpure (20 years), Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji (18 years) and Swapnil Bandu Sakat (23 years). A case has been registered against all the accused under sections 109 and 61(2), sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act and sections 37(1), 37(2) and 135 of the Indian Justice Code and they have been sent to police custody till February 5. Initial investigation has revealed that the role of the accused is related to providing vehicles for the incident and hatching a conspiracy. At the same time, accused Shubham Lonkar has been declared wanted, the search for him is going on. According to police investigation, the arrested accused were in touch with Shubham Lonkar and provided all kinds of help to the main accused who opened fire at Rohit Shetty’s house. It is being told that Shivsharan Pomaji along with Shubham Lonkar planned to carry out the entire conspiracy. On the advice of arrested accused Aditya Dnyaneshwar Gaikwad, arrangements were made for Honda Dio scooter (MH 12 FN 2205) and other resources, so that it would be easier for the attacker to carry out the incident. Investigation has also revealed that the vehicle was arranged for the main accused only through financial assistance received from Shubham Lonkar. The firing took place late on Saturday night. According to the police, the attackers opened fire on the first floor of a nine-storey building located in Juhu area of ​​Mumbai at around 12:45 pm. He had said that at least five rounds of bullets were fired, one of which hit the glass of the gym in the building. This screenshot is of a Facebook post of an account named Shubham Lonkar Arzoo Bishnoi. It was written in the post – Next time there will be a bullet in the chest. In this post it was written, “To all the brothers, the firing that took place today at the house of film director Rohit Shetty in Mumbai (Shetty Tower), we Shubham Lonkar, Arju Bishnoi, Hari Boxer, Harman Sandhu, take responsibility for it. We have messaged him many times to not interfere in our work, but he did not understand. We have given him this small trailer. If he does not talk to us further, If he understands and doesn’t listen to us, now he will be shot not outside the house but inside his bedroom, on his chest.” It was further written in the same post, “And further, there is a warning to Bollywood that improve in time, otherwise the condition will be very bad. Your Baba will be worse than Siddiqui. All the people we have called, either come on the line on time, otherwise there will be less place to hide.
