New Delhi: Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla Created the Committee on Privileges, a key House panel tasked with looking into allegations of privilege violations against a member and can even recommend expulsion.BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad He will head the 15-member committee, of which eight members are from the NDA and the rest from the opposition. Besides Congress’s Manish Tewari and Manikom Thakur, TMC’s Kalyan Banerjee and DMK’s TR Balu, BJP’s Brijmohan Agrawal and Jagdambika Pal are among its members.It is up to the Speaker to send a notice of breach of privilege to the committee. BJP’s Nishikant Dubey filed a complaint against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for trying to destabilize the country. Birla is yet to take a call on the matter.
