Bollywood’s famous comic actor Rajpal Yadav has made a big claim in a press conference held in Mumbai. The actor has said that he has projects worth ₹1200 crore in future and 10 films. Despite this, an old check bounce case landed him in legal trouble and a jail-like situation. He says that the complainant did not accept the property papers and security amount presented by him in the court and only wanted Rajpal to go to jail. Rajpal Yadav had taken approximately ₹ 5 crore from a company in the year 2010 to produce his film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. This was his debut project as a director, but the film flopped at the box office and Rajpal found it difficult to pay. After this he started giving many post dated cheques, which bounced in the bank. Because of this, the complainant filed a case under check bounce and the matter reached the court. Rajpal Yadav’s lawyer Bhaskar Upadhyay said in the press conference that the accuser first said that he would accept the security money and property papers and the matter would be resolved. But when the documents were presented, he refused to accept them and only insisted on sending Rajpal to jail. Bhaskar alleges that all this was an attempt to tarnish Rajpal’s image and not an honest attempt to get the money back. Rajpal Yadav himself said while talking to the media that he has sometimes worked for free in the difficult times of any producer in the industry and he has also developed his village. He said that his aim was to bring forward new and struggling artists, but unfortunately this matter has entangled him till now. He claims that he has branding, film and other projects worth a total of ₹ 1200 crore in the coming 7 years. Some of these projects range from ₹200 crore to ₹2000 crore, which includes fees, partnerships and branding deals. Yadav also clarified that his aim is to repay all the money on time and he also thanked those who stood by him during this difficult time.
