Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said the killing of Iran’s supreme leader by “so-called leaders of the democratic world” was “despicable”.

New Delhi: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday said the targeted killing of the leadership of a sovereign nation was “heinous” and “deserving of strong condemnation”.He accused “so-called leaders of the democratic world” of plotting to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.D Congress The MP also accused the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi “Genaflecting before Israeli Prime Minister and US President”.The Congress called the Modi government’s response to the war on Iran and its silence on Khamenei’s assassination a “betrayal of India’s values, principles and interests”, adding that the country is paying a heavy price for the substance and style of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy.Congress MP Priyanka termed it “sad” that multiple countries were drawn into the conflict. “The world needs peace, not unnecessary war,” he said, recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s remark that “an eye for an eye blinds the whole world”. Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said that Modi visited Israel on February 25-26 when the world knew that the US-Israel was going to attack Iran and that his speech in the Knesset was a “shameful display of moral cowardice”.Calling him a failure of Modi, Ramesh said Trump continues his “romance” with Pakistan by applauding Field Marshal General Asim Munir whose inflammatory remarks provided the backdrop to the Pahalgam terror attack and said more than 100 times that he had stopped Operation Sindur. Also, he said that America is supporting Pakistan’s war against Afghanistan.
