New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday warned that a global petrol and diesel crisis is brewing as ongoing conflicts affect key energy regions.Speaking during its 132nd episode Mind what?He said, “This month of March has been very eventful at the global level. We all remember that in the past, the entire world was facing numerous problems due to Covid for a long time. We all hoped that after coming out of the Covid crisis, the world will move forward with a fresh start, but the situation of war and conflict continues in different parts of the world.”Referring to the ongoing war between the US, Israel and Iran, he said, “Currently, a terrible war has been going on in our neighborhood for the past one month. Millions of family relatives live in these countries, especially working in the Gulf region. “I am thankful to the Gulf countries for providing all kinds of assistance to over 1 crore Indians there. The region where the war is going on is a major hub of our energy demand. Due to this, there is a global petrol and diesel crisis,” he added.Despite the challenges, the Prime Minister said India is in a stronger position to deal with the situation. “India is tackling these challenges strongly because of its global relationships, support from various countries and the capabilities the country has built over the last decade,” he said. Less than 100 days are left for International Yoga Day.”He also urged people to adopt small lifestyle changes. “I would also request all of you to reduce your sugar intake, and as I said earlier, we also need to reduce the amount of cooking oil by 10%. These small efforts will keep you away from obesity and lifestyle diseases,” he said.Focus on educationMoving towards education, PM Modi spoke about the value of continuous learning. “There’s an old saying, ‘Karat karat practice ke, jadmat garam sujan,’ which means the more we practice continuously, the more wisdom we gain,” he said. Highlighting an initiative in Bengaluru, he said, Prajaya Institute of Education Research has launched a program called Anveshana. “It provides 9th to 12th grade students with opportunities to innovate in areas such as chemistry, earth science and wellness. It gives students valuable research experience and a platform to publish their projects,” he said. He also spoke about the Naga community’s efforts in preserving knowledge through education. “The Naga tribes had a traditional system of morung education, where the elders shared traditional knowledge, history and life skills with the youth,” he said. He added that this system has evolved over time. “With time, this system has now evolved into the Marung concept of education. Through this system, children are made interested in subjects like mathematics and science. Community elders teach them life skills through stories, folk songs and traditional games,” he said.This is a developing story
