Pak infiltrator caught at international border at Samba in J&K

JAMMU: Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Wednesday detained a Pakistani infiltrator at the international border in Ramgarh sector of Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir. Later in the day, Kathua SSP Mohita Sharma conducted a comprehensive security review and inspection of border areas in Kathua.BSF personnel on border duty spotted a suspect near Ramgarh’s Bhalla border outpost, officials said. “The Pakistani national surrendered after being challenged, and preliminary inquiries revealed that he crossed the border inadvertently,” an official said, adding that nothing incriminating was found against him.Officials said the matter is being investigated for further action.Meanwhile, Kathua SSP Mohita Sharma conducted a comprehensive review of border areas to strengthen security and increase policing in the district. He along with top police officials visited Kathua border police outpost, nursery and adjoining areas.The SSP reviewed the existing security grid and assessed ground readiness to ensure effective coordination between various agencies deployed along the border. Sharma emphasized on strengthening the surveillance system and ordered the installation of CCTV cameras at all border police posts and naka points to enhance real-time monitoring.The officials then patrolled the Haria Chowk nursery area which is considered sensitive from the security point of view. On-site instructions were issued to conduct frequent, thorough searches of the nursery area to detect the presence or movement of suspects. The SSP emphasized the need to maintain close coordination with residents to ensure timely flow of information.
