Odia Musician Abhijeet Majumdar Dies After Cardiac Arrest at AIIMS Bhubaneswar

Abhijeet Majumdar was born on 11 September 1971 in Cuttack city of Odisha.
Oriya musician and singer Abhijit Majumdar died on Sunday after suffering a cardiac arrest. He worked in the world of music for more than three decades and composed more than 700 songs.
According to PTI report, Majumdar suffered a cardiac arrest at 7:43 am on Sunday, after which doctors immediately started giving him CPR, but his condition did not improve and he was declared dead at 9:02 am.
Majumdar, 54, was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on September 4 last year due to high blood pressure, thyroid disease and liver problem. After undergoing treatment in the ICU for a long time, he was shifted to the general ward on November 10.
According to the hospital administration, on January 23, he suddenly had high fever, which later turned into infection. Despite treatment, his condition did not improve and he developed septic shock.
According to the family, his body will be taken to Cuttack, where the last rites will be performed. Many leaders including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik expressed grief over his demise.

Abhijeet Majumdar’s music career
Abhijeet Majumdar started his career in the year 1991 from Sambalpuri music industry. His first album Dakshigala became quite famous and gave him recognition.
Around the year 2000, he entered the Oriya film industry i.e. Ollywood. His music was well liked in films like Love Story, Sister Sridevi, Golmaal Love, Mr. Majnu, Mr. Surdas and Sundergarh Ra Salman Khan.
He was also very popular on TV and hosted shows like Melody Nights. Before joining music, he was a lecturer in college, but since 1996 he completely focused on his music career.
