No shortage of funds for development works, no place for laxity: Delhi CM | India News

New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday reiterated that there will be no dearth of funds for development work in Delhi, also asserting that laxity will not be tolerated.Gupta presided over a review meeting on road and drainage works approved earlier and directed the department concerned to complete the tendering process by March-end to ensure completion of the projects before monsoon.“The pace of development work must be visible on the ground. Development projects worth a total of around Rs 3,786 crore have been sanctioned under all three categories so far. All agencies must work in close coordination and complete the pending documentation expeditiously,” the Chief Minister said.The meeting was held to review the works under Chief Minister’s Development Fund (CMDF), Delhi Village Development Board (DVDB) and Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board.“To strengthen the capital’s basic infrastructure, a large number of projects have been sanctioned under the CMDF scheme. So far, 3,812 development projects have received administrative approval under the scheme, with a total estimated cost of Rs 1,798.85 crore,” Gupta said.After the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the Delhi government was taking concrete steps for the overall development of the village. “In this direction, 707 projects have been approved in various rural areas under the Delhi Village Development Board, with an expenditure of around Rs 1,557 crore.” He further said that in the Trans-Yamuna region, 799 projects have been approved under the Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board, with an outlay of around Rs 430 crore.These projects include construction of roads and drains, water supply works, installation of streetlights, development of parks and other basic infrastructure facilities.
