Nayara hikes petrol by Rs 5/L, diesel by Rs 3 | India News
Private fuel retailer Naira Energy on Thursday hiked petrol prices by Rs 5 per liter and diesel prices by Rs 3 per liter in line with the rise in global oil prices due to the war in West Asia.Naira, majority-owned by Russia’s Rosneft, operates about 7,000 of its more than 1 lakh filling stations across the country, mainly on national highways and in urban centers.
Jio-bp, another private retailer, however, has not hiked prices so far. Officials said private fuel retailers, unlike state-owned firms, do not receive any government compensation to compensate them for withholding price hikes.
