Banerjee urged voters to support her party, positioning herself as the guardian of the state’s security.“I am TMC candidate. If you want to keep the state safe, vote TMC,” he said.The chief minister also alleged that the BJP brought in people from outside to vote in neighboring Assam as residents of the state did not have the confidence to win the polls.“The BJP brought in people from outside to vote in Assam because it was not confident of winning the votes of the residents of the state,” he said.Banerjee also claimed that the names of 90 lakh people were deleted from the electoral roll through the Special Intensive Correction (SIR) process.“Names of 90 lakh people have been deleted (through SIR). All institutions in the country are one-sided. BJP has brought them all,” he said.West Bengal will vote in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting scheduled for May 4. The TMC is seeking to hold on to power against a resurgent BJP, which has wielded significant influence in the state since the 2021 elections.
