Lok Sabha seats for southern states won’t be reduced: Prime Minister | India News
Thiruvalla: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday told an NDA election rally that there will be no reduction in Lok Sabha seats in southern states, which have successfully controlled their population, and the total number of seats will be increased to benefit states across the country.“Rumours are doing the rounds that seats will be reduced in South Indian states, but this is completely untrue. Parliament will take steps to fully secure their seats. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra, Goa, Telangana and other states that have done well in population control will not lose any Lok Sabha seats even if their population growth is low.”Modi said the LDF and UDF are accusing each other of being the “B-team” of the BJP as they know the saffron party is the “A-team” in Kerala. “The enmity shown by the LDF and UDF in Kerala is fake. They are behind-the-scenes friends in Kerala and part of the Bharat bloc in other states,” he said, adding that both are spreading lies about the proposed amendment to the Foreign Contribution (Control) Act.On the Sabarimala gold scam, Modi said the temple has become a “loot target” for both fronts. “If the NDA comes to office, all those involved in the case will be punished appropriately,” he said.“NDA is committed to the development of Kerala. What has not been achieved in the last 50 years, the NDA government will complete in five years. That is Modi’s guarantee,” said the Prime Minister. The countdown to the LDF government has begun, and, for the first time, an NDA government will come to power, Modi asserted.‘Stalin Govt Targeted Over TN’s Financial Situation’In Chennai, chairing a meeting with members of the BJP’s Tamil Nadu core committee at a hotel on Saturday to review election preparations, Modi directed them to come up with a counter-narrative to the DMK during the election campaign.
