KOLKATA: “Legally married; currently separated” is how actor and BJP Kharagpur Town MLA Hiranmoy Chatterjee (Hiran) has described his marital status in his nomination affidavit while mentioning Anindita Chatterjee as his wife. Earlier this year, Anindita had filed an FIR accusing Hiran of mental and physical cruelty and getting married for a second time without divorce after pictures of actor and colleague Ritika Giri performing Hindu wedding rituals in Varanasi surfaced. Hiran, contesting this time from Shyampur in Howrah district, declared Rs 15 lakh and Anindita Rs 12 lakh. His bank and insurance investments total Rs 5.3 crore. She owns a car worth Rs 4.7 lakh and an SUV worth Rs 5 lakh is registered in Anindita’s name He declared 20 grams of jewelery worth Rs 4.7 lakh. Anindita’s jewelery is worth Rs 18 lakhs. Their combined assets are Rs 14.5 crore and liabilities are Rs 2.3 lakh. Hiran has four pending criminal cases, including assault and conspiracy charges and charges of indecent assault.
