A Kannada TV actress in Bengaluru has been accused of secretly making a video in the washroom during the Celebrity Women’s Cricket held at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium on February 7 and threatening to make it viral online if she did not pay the money. After this, the police registered an FIR in this case on 13 February and started investigation. According to the report of news agency PTI, the actress has also been a contestant of a reality show. According to the complaint, she had participated in the three-day long Celebrity Women’s Cricket. On February 7, the second day of the event, when she went to the women’s washroom inside the stadium, an unknown person recorded her objectionable video without her knowledge. According to the FIR, this alleged video was sent from an Instagram account to her friend’s Instagram account. It is alleged that the sender thought that the account belonged to the actress. The FIR also said, “The content of the video is obscene. After uploading the video, unknown people threatened to send more private videos and make video calls. They demanded money and started blackmailing the friend.” The actress alleges that the accused threatened that if the money was not given, the video would be made public on other social media platforms. Police said that based on his complaint, a case has been registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station on February 13 under relevant sections of the IT Act and sections 77 (stalking), 351 (criminal intimidation) and 308 (extortion). Also, further investigation is going on to arrest the accused. The complainant has handed over the photos and videos related to this case to the police in a pen drive.
