Water Minister reviews progress of water projects in UP villages; Officials are directed to complete the arrangements before summer

D Uttar Pradesh The government has directed officials to initiate initial preparations to prevent drinking water shortage in villages before the summer months under Jal Jeevan Mission and State Rural Drinking Water Program at the Rural Water Supply Headquarters. Water Minister Swadhan Dev Singh reviewed the progress of the projects on Monday.During the review, Singh directed officials to complete all necessary arrangements in advance and directed engineers to speak to at least ten village heads daily to monitor the status of drinking water projects and resolve any issues. He directed the engineers to regularly inform the public representatives about the progress of water supply projects. The minister further reviewed the road rehabilitation work, stressing that all the roads dug up for laying the pipeline should be fully restored by the end of March. Senior officials were asked to visit the site, to take strict action against the implementing agencies in case of lapses. Singh also mentioned that drinking water problems in villages in Bundelkhand and Vindhya have largely been resolved.Namami Gange and Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Water Supply Department Anurag Srivastava were present during the review.
