JAMMU: Troops foiled an infiltration bid along the LoC in Rajouri’s Sundarbani sector in Jammu while a joint team of police and 54 Rashtriya Rifles busted a terrorist module in Nowshera area of the district, arresting suspected terrorist associates linked to Pakistan-based smugglers.A White Knight Corps (16 Corps) spokesman told X that “suspicious movement of terrorists” was detected early Thursday and the added alert troops responded with swift and calibrated fire, successfully foiling the infiltration attempt. “Operational vigilance continues to be maintained across a sector.”
In Nowshera, based on intelligence information, Sachin Kumar alias Pama was arrested and a cache of arms, including a Turkish-made Jigana pistol and three magazines, a Chinese TT-30 Norinco pistol and a magazine and 15 live rounds, was seized, a Whiteson Knight Corps spokesperson said.Preliminary investigations indicate that Kumar was in direct contact with Pakistan-based terrorists/traffickers and was running a cross-border, inter-state arms racket.
