‘Golmaal 5 is not inspired by any film’: Rohit Shetty released official statement, said- the news is false, legal action will be taken

The film Golmaal 5 remains in the news continuously. Many types of reports were coming out on social media regarding the story of the film. It is being said that this film is inspired by Do Aur Do Paanch. Meanwhile, now director Rohit Shetty has put an end to these speculations and made it clear that Golmaal 5 is not inspired by any classic Bollywood film and such reports are completely baseless. Issuing an official statement, Rohit Shetty said, we want to provide clarity on some news floating on online and digital media platforms, in which it is being said that Golmaal 5 is inspired by or based on the film ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’. We want to say clearly that all these reports are wrong, misleading and completely untrue. We strongly request all media houses, publications, portals and digital platforms not to publish or disseminate unverified information. The statement further said, before publishing any news, updates or clarifications related to Rohit Shetty or Golmaal 5, it must be verified with us or our official PR representative – Universal Communications. If this is not done, strict legal action will be taken. We expect everyone to maintain journalistic integrity and responsibility. Also, whatever wrong news is currently circulating should be corrected or removed as soon as possible. The shooting of the film is expected to begin in late February in Mumbai’s Film City and the film is targeted for theatrical release in early 2027. This fifth installment also celebrates 20 years of the ‘Golmaal’ franchise, as the series has achieved huge success across the country since the first film was released in 2006.
