Let us tell you that Shakira last performed in India in 2007 during the ‘Oral Fixation’ tour in Mumbai. According to the organisers, the aim of the concert is not just to entertain but also to raise awareness on issues like hunger and malnutrition. Shakira will perform at Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. In a press note, Shakira said, “Performing in India has always been special for me. I am excited to meet the fans in Mumbai and Delhi. The Feeding India concert is not just music but a message of standing together for the nutrition of children.” Shakira is known for her superhit songs “Hips Don’t Lie”, “Whenever, Wherever” and “Waka Waka”. She is known for her energetic stage performances and powerful performances. Apart from music, Shakira also works for education and children’s welfare through her Barefoot Foundation. This initiative aligns with the goal of Feeding India, which works against hunger and malnutrition. According to the press note, the Feeding India Concert is a community initiative.
