EC to begin tour of poll-bound states | India News
According to commission sources, the EC will begin its visit to poll-bound states to assess the election preparations with a visit to Assam from February 16 to 18.Sources told TOI that CEC Gyanesh Kumar and ECSS Sandhu and Vivek Joshi may visit Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the last week of this month. Tour of Bengal and Kerala can happen only in March; The dates are yet to be finalised.Assembly elections in four states and the Union Territory of Puducherry are due in April-May. An announcement is possible in the second half of March.During their visit, the EC will hold discussions with political party leaders, chief secretaries and DGPs, district magistrates and law enforcement agencies.
