The candidates who took part in the teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh many years ago are still waiting for the examination. Similar is the story of the candidates taking part in teacher recruitment in Delhi. These candidates are waiting for their posting, but due to the matter repeatedly going to court, the candidates are just waiting. Teacher recruitment notification came in 2022, after which the examination has been conducted and the results have also been released. But the candidates who passed the selection process have not yet received the posting. The candidates who passed the exam told Aaj Tak Digital how they are getting troubled…

this is the thing Delhi DSSSB TGT Special Teacher Recruitment 20/22 and 33/23 conducted by Subordinate Services Selection Board. Actually, the board had issued recruitment for a total of 945 posts of TGT on 20/7/2022 and 31/7/2023. After this, no examination was conducted for the selection of candidates for recruitment. After this, after a long effort of the candidates, the examination paper was organized in June 2025, but even before the examination, the court had put a stay on the results. After the examination, the struggle started for the result of the examination. Then in October the court lifted the stay on 500 recruitments.

Although the court had put a stay on the results earlier also, but later the court ordered to release the results. After this, on 2 February 2026, the results were released for 361 posts out of 945. But, on February 3, the Supreme Court again put a stay on the appointment. In such a situation, 361 candidates were shortlisted and appointments are still pending. The results of the recruitment examination have been released after almost 4 years and now the candidates are waiting for their appointment. In this, the results of some candidates have not even been released.

DSSSB Exam

‘I have come on merit, just get a job’

Kapil, who passed the exam, says, ‘We are those candidates who previously prepared for many years, endured financial struggles, and carried the expectations of their families on their shoulders. Got selected on merit in a completely transparent examination, but even today we are waiting for appointment. Many candidates are facing financial crisis. Many are nearing the end of their life span, making the future uncertain. Mental stress and social pressure are increasing. Not getting appointment despite selection is breaking the morale of the youth. We want to tell the government that the appointment process of the candidates selected on merit should be completed on priority basis. The dignity of the transparent and constitutional recruitment process should be maintained.

Meanwhile, Pankaj Yadav, who passed the exam, says, ‘When I did B.Ed in 2019, there was a lot of hope that I would get a job soon. After this, he cleared CTET in 2021, then when the notification came in 2022, it seemed that he would become a teacher. But after the notification came, the examination was not held for three years and we kept visiting the leaders. Then the date of examination came, but four days before, the court gave permission to conduct the examination, but withheld the results.

He told, ‘After this the struggle continued, the results did not come after the examination, the court gave permission for only 500 and then only the recruitment of 2022 got the green signal. Now the result came, after a day the court again put a stay on it. Now no one from the government goes. Our only demand is that if the examination is held after hard work, then appointment should also be given. After this, age limit is also a big problem for us and many are not able to apply for recruitment.
