Director Prem Jogi has given clarification on the controversy of obscene song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from the film KD: The Devil. He says that this entire song is based on a bottle, and people came to conclusions without listening to it completely. He also says that if someone’s thinking is wrong then he will misunderstand the song. Apart from director Prem, his wife Rakshita also expressed her displeasure over the controversy. He raised the question that if this song is obscene then why no objection was taken when songs like Choli Ke Peeche or Dirty Picture came.

In a recent interview with Bangalore Times, Prem Jogi, director of the film KD: The Devil, said on the controversy, “If one has the right perspective, he will not take this song in a wrong way. Whenever a woman’s case happens, why do people assume the worst? People are reacting without watching the actual video or understanding the context.”

The director further adds, “The censor board is there for a reason. I trust them and I will stand by their decision. If some people want to give a label to this song, they are free to do so. But I know my intention is not to harm anyone.”

In the conversation, Prem Jogi also said that even though the Hindi song has been removed, its Kannada version will not be removed. He is not dismissing the criticism, but says he is ready to deal with such matters.

Director’s wife raised questions on singing behind the blouse

Amidst the controversy, director Prem’s wife Rakshita has also raised many questions. He has shared many posts on social media supporting the song and the director. Along with this he has written, when ‘Feelings’ (song from Pushpa-2), ‘Dreamum Wakeupam’ (song from Aiyya movie), ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ (song from Khalnayak) or 100 such songs had similar things, then everyone felt okay. When the full film came out in which it was shown that the actors had sex throughout the film, everyone still felt okay with it. But such a big issue was made on one song. I’m just trying to understand it, to understand why this is happening.”

At this time, the director’s wife also raised questions on The Dirty Picture, which was in controversies for its bold content.

What is the whole controversy?

Pan India film KD: The Devil is scheduled to release on 30 April 2026. On March 14, the song Sarke Chunar Teri of this film was released in many languages. This song was filmed on Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt. As soon as the song was released on YouTube, it started going viral on social media, the reason for which was the obscene and double meaning lyrics of the song. Apart from this, the dance steps and picturization shown in the song were also quite objectionable.

The song was heavily criticized on social media, after which many complaints are being filed against it.
