Famous actor and filmmaker Dhanush of Tamil film industry is facing a big legal dispute. Production company Thenandal Films has issued a legal notice to him for around ₹20 crore, alleging that he had stalled a project signed in 2016, causing huge losses to the company.

According to the news published in Indian Express, Dhanush had signed a contract with the company in 2016 for a film titled ‘Naan Rudhran’. In this film, along with playing the lead role, he was also going to work as a director. But later he had to decide to withdraw from the project and at that time he had assured the producer that he would do a new film with him.
Nevertheless, the company claims that in the further process, Dhanush did not submit the complete script on time and gave his dates to other projects, due to which the shooting of the film was stuck in limbo. More than ₹20 crore had already been spent in pre-production, which included advance payments and casting of several actors such as Nagarjuna and S.J. Surya’s expenses are included.

Thenandal Films has said in the notice that they have given Dhanush a week’s time to clarify whether they will give their dates to complete the project by the end of 2025. If Dhanush does not clarify his position within this deadline, the production house has sought recovery of ₹20 crore and an additional ₹1 crore as damages. Apart from this, the company has warned that if the dispute is not resolved then appropriate legal action will be taken.
Till now no official statement has come from Dhanush on this matter. Amidst this controversy, he is also working on other projects to start soon.
