New Delhi: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Minister of State (MOS) Ajay Tamta on Friday officially inaugurated the Ma Purnagiri Mela at Thuligad.Chief Minister Pushkar Singh offered prayers at Dhami Ma Purnagiri Dham and sought the Goddess’s blessings for peace and prosperity of the state.Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Ma Purnagiri Mela is a grand celebration of faith, tradition and culture. He reiterated the government’s commitment to preserve traditional culture and local heritage.The Chief Minister added that the government is working tirelessly to restore temples and develop pilgrimage sites in Kedarkhand and Manaskhand. He also said that ensuring the safety and comfort of devotees visiting Purnagiri Dham is the highest priority of the government.Earlier in the day, Dhami attended the Grand holi A meeting ceremony was held at Sanatan Dharamshala Ramlila Maidan in Khatima on Friday. He extended Holi greetings to the gathering.On this occasion, he joins in the traditional Kumaoni Holi, Dhrupadi Holi, and Tharu Holi songs, sharing the festive joy with the community.Addressing the event, the Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand’s folk culture, traditions and festivals form the strong foundation of the state’s cultural identity. He pointed out that Holi is not only a festival of colors but also a symbol of social unity, harmony, inclusion and brotherhood.In an emotional note, he said, “Khatima is my home and the people of Khatima are my family. I am very happy to be among my family members.”He also said that Khatima is a symbol of communal harmony and holds a unique identity as “Mini India”. People of different religions, communities and organizations live here with love, unity and mutual respect, celebrating all festivals together. He said, maintaining traditional culture in modern environment is highly commendable.During the event, the Chief Minister played Holi with the residents, deepened the spirit of the festival and extended his wishes for a Holi filled with happiness, peace and prosperity for all the citizens of the state.
