New Delhi: The Delhi government’s annual budget for 2026-27 will focus on industrial growth, investment and job creation, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Wednesday.In an interaction with industrialists, Gupta said that his government is preparing an industry-friendly budget and sought their suggestions on it.Entrepreneurs from various industry sectors attended the meeting and shared their demands, suggestions and expectations, said a statement from the Delhi CMO.“The government is working towards a budget that accelerates industrial growth, attracts investment and creates large-scale job opportunities. Inputs from industry will be given due priority in the upcoming budget,” said the Chief Minister.The Delhi government is scheduled to present its 2026-27 annual budget on March 24, 2026.Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa was present in the meeting. Industry leaders emphasized the need for several policy and structural reforms to accelerate industrial development.They suggested revision of capital expenditure rules in industrial areas, conversion of industrial plots to freehold and ensuring adequate supply of drinking water for industries.Making Delhi a Global Capability Center (GCC) hub, implementing a green building policy and providing incentives to promote the use of environment-friendly equipment were also suggested.The talks also focused on improving logistics and strengthening the manufacturing sector. Industry representatives called for policy support for smooth supply chains, strong logistics infrastructure and increased production capacity.They recommended power subsidy for industries, implementation of single-window clearance system, reforms in FAR policy, and promotion of recycling industries to ease operations and reduce costs.Representatives of unplanned industrial areas also raised their concerns. They called for infrastructure development, better drainage system, upgradation of Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) and better sewage system.The Chief Minister said that Delhi’s industrial and manufacturing sectors are the backbone of the city’s economy, driving employment, innovation and economic growth.He underlined that the government’s approach is based on ‘development through partnership’, continuous dialogue and collaboration with industry and assured that feedback will be carefully considered to budget for concrete measures to position Delhi as a modern, competitive and industry-friendly economy.
