New Delhi: The Delhi government is committed to taking concrete, practical steps to address the issues faced by sanitation workers, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday.According to an official statement, while interacting with representatives of the Sanitation Workers Union, the Chief Minister directed the department concerned to review all the issues raised by the union and ensure swift action.Concerned over the on-ground challenges faced by the community, union representatives raised demands for recruitment and regularization of sanitation workers as well as workplace safety, wage-related issues and other conditions of service, the statement said.They advised the chief minister demanding better health care facilities, permanent employment and a more dignified working environment commensurate with the nature of their work, the statement said.
