ক্যাপিটাল হেডের অধীনে প্রতিরক্ষা বাজেট FY2025-26 এ সম্পূর্ণরূপে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছেThe original allocation for capital expenditure during the fiscal year was Rs 1.8 lakh crore, raised by the finance ministry in view of the pace of expenditure achieved by the defense ministry in the first two quarters and the increased requirement of the force for modernization and other purposes after Operation Sindur, a ministry statement said.A significant portion of the expenditure was for the acquisition of aircraft and aero engines, followed by land systems, electronic warfare equipment, weapons, shipbuilding, aircraft stores and projectiles. Also included were proposals to acquire multi-role fighter aircraft, medium-altitude long-endurance remotely piloted aircraft for the IAF, mine countermeasures ships for the Navy, and quick-reaction surface-to-air missile systems and Nag missile systems Mark-2 for the Army.In FY2025-26, the Ministry of Defense was approved to take up 109 proposals worth Rs 6.81 lakh crore, compared to 56 proposals worth Rs 1.76 lakh crore approved in FY2024-25. Also, capital raising agreements were signed for a total of 503 proposals worth Rs 2.28 lakh crore in FY 2025-26.With an increase of 22%, the budget allocated Rs 2.19 lakh crore under capital for the fiscal year 2026-27.
