New Delhi: Union Home Minister Dr Amit Shah The ‘chargesheet’ against the BJP was released on Saturday Trinamool Congress (TMC) led West Bengal government ahead of assembly elections in the state.Addressing a press conference in Kolkata, Shah insisted that the upcoming elections would be a choice between “fear and faith”. He was joined by BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya and Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Subvendu Adhikari. He criticized the Chief Minister and the Trinamool supremo Mamata BanerjeeAccusing him of nurturing “the politics of lies, violence and corruption in the last 15 years”.“Bangla has to choose between fear and trust. For the last 15 years, there has been politics of fear and corruption. Mamata Banerjee has created a new way of politics by using lies and violence to advance her politics. TMC’s rise to power is based on lies, fear and violence. But since 2011, BJP has been fighting against it, and I believe that BJP will form the government this time.”He continued, “In today’s press conference, we have brought a charge sheet against the 15-year rule of the TMC government. This charge sheet has been filed on behalf of the people of Bengal against the Mamata Banerjee government, which is being voiced by the BJP. In a way, the people of Bengal will have to decide in the next elections whether to choose fear or choose trust.”The veteran BJP leader praised Subhendu Adhikari for his extensive tour of the state to address key issues.“Elections have been announced. All BJP workers, led by our state president, have stepped into Bengal with the determination to form the BJP government. This election in Bengal is also very important for national security. The security of the entire eastern region is linked to Bengal. After the formation of BJP government in Assam, the infiltration has almost ended. Now, there is only one route left through which infiltrators enter the entire country, and that is Bengal,” he explained.Shah added, “Our opposition leader Shri Subvendu Adhikari Jio toured the whole of Bengal before the elections, taking to every person the issues of chaos, anarchy, economic woes and especially infiltration prevalent in Bengal.”He further criticized the TMC for failing to fulfill its promise of “Golden Bengal”, which has turned the state into a hub for criminal syndicates and hindered the growth of the industry, which he described as an “industrial graveyard”.The state will conduct elections in two phases, on April 23 and April 29, with the counting of votes for both phases scheduled on May 4. In the first phase, elections will be held in 152 constituencies, while the remaining 142 constituencies will go to polls in the second phase.(with ANI input)
