TV’s popular supernatural show ‘Naagin’ has once again come among the audience with a new season. This hit franchise of Ekta Kapoor has completed six successful seasons so far and has kept the audience engaged every time with new twists, new characters and high-tech presentation. This time in ‘Naagin 7’ the story seems to be going to an even bigger level. Along with Ichchhadhari Naagin, Ichchhadhari Dragon has now entered the show, while the return of Akashdeep Sehgal as a dangerous villain has further increased the excitement. In this connection, we had a special conversation with Kanika Mann and Akashdeep Sehgal. Both have spoken openly about their character, show and comeback. Naagin is a big franchise. Had you ever thought that you would be a part of this? Kanika Mann- Naagin is a huge franchise in itself. There have been six seasons so far and I have liked all of them very much. Everyone in my house, neighborhood and relatives see snakes. I found this show very interesting, but I never thought that I would be a part of it. Ekta Kapoor ma’am’s shows are always of a different level. This time I am not an Ichchadhari Naagin, but I am an Ichchadhari Dragon, this was the thing that was exciting me the most. Your look and getup in Naagin 7 is much talked about. How do you feel seeing yourself in this character and playing it? Akashdeep Sehgal- This character is both challenging and very fun. Its style is completely different. I have never played such a character before. It has a different style, swag and flow. My dialogues in the show are very strong and being the role of a villain, I get to play many shades, so I am having a lot of fun playing it. Will you give any hint on how your role will prove to be a game-changer in the show? Kanika Mann- My character has been introduced as a dragon in the second episode. Now the audience is seeing what kind of impact he is bringing. Radhika’s journey is like a roller-coaster. Her background, journey to becoming a dragon and the situations she faces are all very intense. Some scenes are such that if they happen in real life, a person would be shaken from within. Fans ask why did you take so much time to return? Akashdeep Sehgal- First of all I want to apologize to the audience. My mother passed away in 2015. After that I went into a period of self-discovery. It took me time to understand who I really am and what I want from life. In this industry, a person gets so engrossed in work that he gets away from himself. How is your friendship with Priyanka on the set? Kanika Mann- We both are not gossip type people, but the talks never end. Our friendship is 10 years old. We have seen each other through ups and downs. We genuinely support each other and are happy to see each other’s growth. It was discussed for a long time that you have retired from acting and there were many speculations about Salman Khan too? Akashdeep Sehgal- I have taken Sannyasa, but not externally but within my mind. Just going to the mountains and standing there is not Sannyasa. Real salvation can be found by living in the world and understanding oneself amidst the responsibilities. As far as the rumors related to Salman Khan are concerned, I want to say clearly that I love Salman as much as I love Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. To say that Salman spoiled my life is completely wrong. I never said that. If anyone claims that I have said this, I openly challenge it. If anyone has any such video or proof, I am ready to give him ₹5 crore. How important is your character going to prove to be in the show? Akashdeep Sehgal- It completely depends on the audience. But the way my entry has been liked, it seems that this character is going to grow bigger. People are calling it the ‘Villain of Villains’.
