The petition filed by Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi demanding cancellation of the rape FIR registered in 2019 was heard in the Bombay High Court on Thursday. This FIR was registered at Versova Police Station in Mumbai under section 376 of IPC and other sections.

According to ANI report, lawyer Prashant Patil, appearing for Aditya Pancholi, reiterated the demand for quashing of the FIR in the court. A female Bollywood actress had filed a complaint in the case, in which Pancholi has been made an accused.
During the hearing, the Public Prosecutor told the court that despite 11 notices sent by the police, the complainant did not appear before the investigation. After this, the High Court issued a new notice to the complainant on Thursday and directed him to appear in the next hearing i.e. on 24 February 2026.

Complaint filed after 15 years: Pancholi
There is controversy regarding this FIR registered on 27 June 2019. Pancholi has claimed that the complaint was filed almost 15 years after the alleged incident, which is malicious. In the petition, citing Bhajanlal decision of the Supreme Court, a demand has been made to cancel the FIR.
Advocate Prashant Patil also told that before the alleged incident, a person had met Aditya Pancholi, the recording of which is with him. This recording has been presented in the court, in which it has been said that there were ulterior motives behind filing the complaint.

After the FIR was registered, Pancholi had said that he was falsely implicated. Currently the matter is pending in the court and the next hearing will be on February 24.
