French President Emmanuel Macron, while addressing the India-France Innovation Forum in Mumbai, underlined the strength and ambition of the strategic partnership of the two countries with the slogan ‘Jai Ho’. Macron praised India’s talent while mentioning the leadership of Indian-origin CEOs in the world’s biggest companies. He said, CEOs of Alphabet, Microsoft, IBM, Adobe and Palo Alto Networks are Indians. He specifically mentioned the CEO of luxury brand Chanel, who is from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. According to Macron, India not only participates in innovation but also leads it.

Strong foundation of defense cooperation partnership

Macron said that the defense sector is the cornerstone of India-France partnership. He said that France is a reliable partner in the ‘Make in India’ campaign and both the countries are working together on the development of next generation engines, multirole helicopters, modern fighter aircraft and submarines. This is not limited to just defense deals but is a symbol of long-term strategic cooperation.

The French President said that strong cooperation is also developing between the two countries in the space sector. The joint satellite project shows how scientific research and industrial capacity can combine to deliver big results. Apart from this, cooperation is also increasing on civil nuclear energy and technologies that improve the lives of common people.

Chemistry of Modi-Macron also in discussion

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Macron also took a car journey together after bilateral talks in Mumbai. While sharing the photo on social media platform X, Modi said that both the leaders are going together for India-France Innovation Forum and other programs.
