Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat said that Hindu society does not need to fear anyone, but it is important to be alert about the circumstances. In the social harmony meeting organized at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Nirala Nagar, Lucknow, Bhagwat called upon the Hindu society to become organized and strong.

In the meeting, he expressed concern over the decreasing population of Hindus and also expressed the need to stop greed or forced conversions. He said that ‘Ghar Wapsi’ efforts should be accelerated and the society will also have to take the responsibility of social rehabilitation of those who come back to Hinduism.

Also talked about the issue of infiltration
On the issue of infiltration, he said that a policy should be adopted to identify and remove people living in the country illegally. According to him, such elements should not be given employment or other facilities. Speaking on the family system, he said that a balanced population is necessary for the stability of the society. Quoting scientists, he claimed that if a society has less than three children on an average, then that society may become weak in the long run. He expressed the need to make the newlyweds understand the sense of duty towards the family and said that the purpose of marriage is not only for personal happiness but also for the protection of the universe and social responsibility.

On the question of harmony, he said that discrimination weakens the society. ‘We are all sons of one country and one motherland. As human beings, we are all one,’ he said – according to him, the basic spirit of Sanatan ideology is coordination and harmony, and not the spirit of eliminating opponents. On the role of mother power, he said that the foundation of the family is woman. In Indian tradition, women have been honored as ‘Mata’. He emphasized on self-defense training of women and said that they should not be considered weak but as a form of strength.

Everyone should follow the law- Mohan Bhagwat
Responding to questions on law and social issues, he said that everyone should follow the law, and if any law is flawed then it can be changed through constitutional means. On caste discrimination, he said that if the sense of belonging increases in the society, such problems will automatically reduce. He also said that India has the ability to guide the world in the future and the solutions to many global problems lie in Indian thinking.

Representatives of Sikh, Buddhist and Jain communities along with members of various religious and social organizations were present in the meeting. He called for organizing regular social harmony meetings at the settlement level, so that misunderstandings can be resolved through dialogue and coordination in the society can be strengthened.
