There is a possibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Israel. The official date has not been announced yet, but the probable date is said to be 24-25 February. A formal announcement in this regard has not yet been made by the Ministry of External Affairs. If this visit happens, it will be Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Israel after 2017, when he gave a new direction to the relations between the two countries by making a historic visit.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, referring to this possible visit in his address, said, “Narendra Modi Coming to Israel next week. There is a strong alliance between our countries and we will discuss all kinds of cooperation.” He further said, “Israel is very popular in India… I want you all to know this.”

PM Modi went to Israel in 2017
Relations between India and Israel were elevated to the level of strategic partnership during PM Modi’s visit in 2017. In July 2017, PM Modi made a historic three-day visit. He became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit this country. The visit lasted from 4 to 6 July and coincided with the completion of 25 years of formal diplomatic relations between the two countries. Since then both the countries are focusing on increasing cooperation in areas like innovation, research, technology and ‘Make in India’. This partnership has moved towards strengthening technology-based cooperation.

India-Israel talks on FTA
Both countries are also negotiating Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Its first meeting was held in New Delhi on 26 May 2010 during the Congress tenure. Recently, in November 2025, India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal visited Israel, where he held high-level meetings to strengthen economic and strategic partnership. During this, talks were held with Israel’s Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat and both the countries signed ‘Terms of Reference’ for the FTA.
