‘अगर समर्पण है तो शिव को भी आना पड़ेगा’, मालिनी अवस्थी ने लोककथाओं के जरिए प्रेम को समझाया – Sahitya Aaj Tak Lucknow 2026 malini awasthi love folk music ntc ygmr
The stage of ‘Sahitya Aaj Tak Lucknow’ is set. On Saturday, in the session organized on the theme ‘Prem Gali Ati Sankari – Love in Folk Music’, there was a conversation with Padmashree, folk singer Malini Awasthi. The topic was love and in front was Malini Awasthi, a famous folk singer who sings about love. During the conversation in this gathering decorated with folk songs, he told that love is included in our folk and culture just like a festival.
‘Lucknow It is a city of love.
Malini Awasthi told how love has been explained in our texts and folklore. He said, ‘Lucknow is a city of love. The ideal model of love was created in Awadh itself. Be it Ramcharitmanas or any incident of Radha-Krishna. These are not religious but cultural creations. This is the culture of India. Love is the most important juice.
He said, ‘In Treta Yuga, Lord Ram, whose father himself had three queens, promised his wife Mata Janaki a vow of monogamy in marriage and crossed the limits of love. He said that if I love you deeply then no other woman will come into my mind, words or life. Siyavar Ramchandra is the most beautiful symbol of love. We will have to find our ideals of love.
‘Ram-Janaki’s love is unmatched’
He told, ‘When Mata Janaki’s Swayamvara was held, the only criterion was not caste, religion, class but only merit. Lord Ram was in the guise of a forest dweller. But Mata Janaki seeing him wishes that no king should be able to lift Shiva’s bow. Take this and this is love. After taking the bow he is introduced. Your background, who you are, doesn’t matter in love. The love between Ram and Sita is such that she goes on exile with him for 14 years. Follows all the conditions of the forest. She lives the hardships of the forest considering her life partner’s struggle and happiness. And Ram’s love is such that when Mata Janaki has to be exiled due to dignity and for keeping Rajdharma ahead, Lord Ram is left alone. He physically lives in Ayodhya but mentally lives in the forest. The love of Ram-Janaki is unmatched.
Malini Awasthi said, ‘On the other hand, the love of Radha-Krishna is priceless. There is no limit in love. Love is just a matter of eyes and mind. Radha loves Krishna because she does not want to bind him. This bond-free love is such that no matter who Krishna marries, he remains Radha’s.
‘If there is surrender in love then Shiva will have to come’
He further said, ‘Third is the love of Shiva and Parvati which is the most unequaled. Parvati does penance to attain Shiva. Festival of Hartalika Teej. We keep a fast in it and celebrate the devoted love of Parvati in which she fasts without listening to her father. Shiva is an Aghori. Don’t want to get tied into any bond but she persuades. If there is surrender in love then Shiva will have to come. Then when this Parvati becomes Sati, Shiva performs Tandav and doomsday occurs. All the gods go and celebrate him. It is said that the tears shed from Shiva’s eyes in mourning became Rudraksha. Rudra’s tears are Rudraksh.
He said, ‘Love is celebrated as a festival here. I don’t know when love started being considered bad. Be it between two living beings, between a devotee and God, between friends, between a parent and a child, it is a festival of love.
