Sanjay Kapoor’s property dispute: Wife Priya Kapoor accused mother-in-law Rani Kapoor of giving false testimony, said- fraud with the court
After the death of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband and businessman Sanjay Kapoor, a dispute continues regarding her property. Meanwhile, Sanjay Kapoor’s third wife Priya Kapoor has accused her mother-in-law Rani Kapoor of giving false testimony. Priya Kapoor has also filed a petition in this regard. Not only this, he has demanded complete dismissal of the civil case filed against RK Family Trust. In fact, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought the response of late Sanjay Kapoor’s mother Rani Kapoor on the petition filed by her daughter-in-law Priya Kapoor, in which she has alleged that the case filed by her mother-in-law against the family trust is based on false statements. Justice Mini Pushkarna has issued notice to Rani Kapoor on Priya Kapoor’s petition. In this petition, a demand has been made to initiate action against him on charges of false testimony under the Indian Civil Defense Code. The court has directed Rani Kapoor to file her reply. The application, filed during the hearing of the case, alleged that there was ‘strong evidence’ such as affidavits and photographs, which showed that Rani Kapoor knowingly made false statements in the affidavit. The application states that he had claimed that he had not signed the ‘RK Family Trust Deed’ or read the contents of it. In her petition, Rani Kapoor (80) has said that forged, fraudulent documents were used for the trust formed in her name in October 2017. He has sought a direction to permanently restrain the defendants, including his daughter-in-law Priya Kapoor and grandchildren, from using or supporting the RK Family Trust in any way. Rani Kapoor’s petition states that she was the sole beneficiary of the entire estate of her late husband Surinder Kapoor and that she was systematically defrauded when the property was transferred to the ‘RK Family Trust’. Surinder Kapoor was the originator of various businesses including ‘Sona Group of Companies’. The petition claims that Sanjay never confirmed to Rani Kapoor till his death that he had indeed been deprived of all his rights, properties and inheritance nor provided her a copy of the alleged ‘RK Family Trust’.
