India EU Trade Deal Live News Updates: After long negotiations that lasted for almost two decades, India and the European Union are going to announce their historic trade agreement today on January 27. This announcement will be made in the 16th India-EU summit. This important meeting is being co-chaired by the President of the European Council Antonio Luis Santos da Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
Both the leaders are currently on a state visit to India and attended the 77th Republic Day celebrations as chief guests. This agreement will give new strength to the relations between India and EU, in which cooperation will increase in important areas like trade, security and clean energy transition.
