Hearing will be held in the Supreme Court on Monday in the case of theft and embezzlement of offerings in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple of Ayodhya. On the instructions of the Supreme Court, the Uttar Pradesh government can place the names of three IPS officers before the court for the formation of a new Special Investigation Team (SIT). According to sources, it is proposed to include Lucknow Range IG Kiran S, Ayodhya DIG Somen Verma and Ayodhya SSP Gaurav Grover in the new SIT.
According to sources, UP government on Monday Supreme Court Will present the panel of these names. After this the court will decide on the formation of a new SIT. The SIT formed earlier to investigate this case included the then Commissioner of Lucknow Division Vijay Vishwas Pant and Special Secretary Finance Neel Ratan Kumar. Now there is a proposal to include two IPS officers in place of these two.
Let us tell you that the UP government had constituted SIT in the case of alleged embezzlement related to the jewelery offered in the Ram temple. After investigation, FIR was registered and many accused were also arrested in the case. Amidst this entire controversy, Champat Rai, the then General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, had resigned from his post. Another key official associated with the trust, Anil Mishra, had also resigned.
Re-entry into temple premises with old identity cards
Meanwhile, another important update related to the temple administration has come out. According to temple sources, the old identity cards and entry passes bearing Champat Rai’s signature, which were recently invalidated, have been re-validated under the interim arrangement.
The purpose of this decision is to avoid affecting the ongoing construction and maintenance work in the temple. Till the implementation of the new system, authorized employees, engineers and technical officers will be able to enter the temple premises through the old identity cards.
Interim arrangement will continue until the new pass system is implemented
In fact, after the change in the leadership of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, entry was banned with identity cards bearing the signature of Champat Rai. Due to this, engineers and employees of various agencies associated with the temple construction project had to face problems in entering the premises. These included employees associated with agencies like L&T, Tata, India Engineers Limited and Uttar Pradesh Government Construction Corporation.
According to temple sources, the entry restrictions were beginning to affect the monitoring and coordination of the ongoing construction work in the temple premises. These include works related to boundary wall, museum, trust office and rest house. After this, a decision has been taken to temporarily validate the old identity cards.
