Actress Narayani Shastri, who has appeared in many superhit TV shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kusum and Koi Apna Sa, has recently given a big statement related to the TV industry and actors’ drug addiction. She herself has admitted that she has consumed all types of drugs. Not only this, the actress has also claimed that the budget for drugs was made for the parties of the TV industry, sometimes even the shooting had to be cancelled. Actress Narayani Shastri recently spoke on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in Siddharth Kanan’s podcast. The actress said that drugs became the reason for the actor’s death. He said- ‘Why he committed suicide is beyond my understanding. But I think drugs are the reason. Earlier in our industry the party budget used to be based on how much would be the budget for liquor. Now there is a budget for drugs. The actress further said, ‘Whether you like it or not, but I myself was shocked to see that drugs have a budget. That’s why I have stopped partying for many years. Now parties are not like ‘let’s dance’, now parties are something different, completely. The actress has claimed that drugs are not used openly in big parties of the TV industry, but drugs are used openly in small parties. He said- ‘Everyone knows that everyone takes drugs. I personally don’t know who does drugs, but I have been to such places where I have seen people taking drugs. The actress further said, ‘I am not trying to become Sati Savitri, I have done all the drugs in my life. But I have done it as an experiment to see what happens by doing this. Otherwise, if you get into drugs, you cannot do anything in life. Narayani further said, ‘Cocaine becomes addictive. I think cocaine is eating away at the industry. It’s eating up the world, because everyone does drugs. I know very few people who don’t do drugs. I didn’t do all this, but when I went to such a place, I used to be shocked to see the people there. Actors are not able to stand, shooting gets cancelled- Narayani. When the actress was further asked whether actors take drugs on the sets or in vanity, she said, ‘I don’t even mention it, but it happens a lot. Our shoot has been canceled because the actors are not in a condition to shoot. Expensive actors are sitting on the set, but the shooting is not happening because people are not fit to stand. This has not happened in my last two shows, but it has happened a lot in the previous shows. In her controversial statement, Narayani Shastri has made it clear that she is not a drug addict, she had used all the drugs only to try.
