The reaction of Uttar Pradesh’s royal Chief Mufti Maulana Chaudhary Efrahim Hussain has come to light on the statement of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav regarding Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Welcoming the Chief Minister’s statement, he said that the religion of Islam also teaches that if a man cannot do justice to his one wife, then he has no right to marry for the second, third or fourth time.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had said in his statement regarding UCC that when there is talk of one country, one constitution, one head and one symbol, then why should there be separate laws for Hindus and Muslims. He said that if Ramchandra marries once then Rahim should also marry once. He also said that Muslim women are also our sisters and they should also get equal rights.

The Chief Minister said that now only a married person will have the right to live legally in Madhya Pradesh. Referring to Triple Talaq, he said that now if anyone talks about Triple Talaq, action will be taken against him as per law. He said that the era of triple talaq is over and now there should be the right to marry only once.

Injustice against a woman is against the principles of Islam.

Responding to the Chief Minister’s statement, Royal Chief Mufti Maulana Chaudhary Efrahim Hussain said that his statement is commendable and is in accordance with the basic principles of Islam. He said that Islam always teaches justice, equality and justice. Religion does not want that any sister, daughter or any woman should be subjected to injustice or should be given any kind of trouble. He said that hurting or putting anyone in trouble is not the teaching of Islam.

If there is no justice for one wife then second marriage is not allowed.

Maulana Chaudhary Efrahim Hussain said that in Islam, if a person cannot do justice and equality to even one of his wives, then he is not allowed to marry for the second, third or fourth time. He said that if a person discriminates against a wife by having multiple marriages or does not respect her rights, then he is committing injustice. Such a situation is considered against the spirit of Islam and its basic principles.

Mohan Yadav’s statement is in accordance with the basic spirit of Islam

Shahi Chief Mufti said that the statement of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav puts forward this thinking. He said that Islam does not allow injustice of any kind. Therefore, he welcomes this statement of the Chief Minister and considers it commendable. He says that the purpose of religion is to establish justice and equality in the society and no woman’s rights should be violated.
