‘भक्ति मार्ग पर नो भटकाव’: प्रयागराज के मनकामेश्वर मंदिर में शॉर्ट्स-भड़कीले कपड़ों पर ‘नो एंट्री’ – Mankameshwar Temple in Prayagraj Imposes Strict Dress Code and Rules for Shrawan Maas Devotees lclam
The administration of the legendary Mankameshwar temple located on the banks of Yamuna in Prayagraj has imposed a new dress code and strict rules for the devotees for the month of Shravan starting from July 30. The Mahant of the temple, Brahmachari Shri Dharanand Maharaj, has taken this decision with the aim of preventing the devotees from getting distracted and providing them the full results of the worship.
Under this new order, there will be a complete ban on women and girls coming wearing short and flashy clothes. At the same time, it has been made mandatory for men performing Rudrabhishek to wear dhoti and for women to wear saree or salwar suit.
Important guidelines for devotees
Notice boards have been installed at various places in the temple premises. Women have been asked to come with full body covering decently, otherwise they will not be allowed entry. In view of the danger of snatching, it has been advised not to wear too much gold and silver jewellery. Men are also instructed to come in decent clothes. It is prohibited to sit near Shivalinga for a long time.
These things will be banned in the temple premises
According to the new rules, there will now be a complete ban on taking selfies and photographs in the temple premises. Apart from this, the use of plastic and polythene has been prohibited. There is a ban on anointing Baba Bholenath with plastic glass. To keep the premises clean, smoking, eating gutka and pan masala will be prohibited.
Free dhoti will be provided, devotees welcomed
For Rudrabhishek, men will be provided free dhoti by the temple administration, which will have to be returned after the Abhishek. Devotee Babita Pandey and other devotees have welcomed this decision. People say that the temple is a place of worship, not a place to visit; Therefore one should come in decent clothes only.
