Amidst the protests in Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, surprising songs are being heard from here. These are the same songs which freedom fighter Ram Prasad Bismil used to sing during India’s freedom struggle. The song of Bismil, who once fought for independence against the British Empire, has now become the voice of rebellion in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. These lines of immortal revolutionary Ram Prasad Bismil are echoing again today in the streets and hills of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Thousands of people reached Rawalakot bus stand and together raised their voices of protest with these hymns of Bismil. When the protesters of the valley sing in unison on the voice of this boy wearing a Pathani suit, its echo is heard from Islamabad to Rawalpindi.

Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna…, the immortal song of India’s freedom fighters, was composed by Bismil Azimabadi. He wrote it after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre around 1921-22. Ram Prasad Bismil made it so popular that for a long time people considered it to be his creation.
Ram Prasad Bismil often used to hum and recite this song in revolutionary meetings, to encourage his comrades and during the struggle against British rule. It became a kind of inspiration song for the revolutionaries of Hindustan Republican Association.
The most famous and emotional story is of 19 December 1927. When Ram Prasad Bismil was being hanged in Gorakhpur jail. It is said that while moving towards the gallows, the opening lines of this song were on his lips. After this, this song became an immortal slogan of the Indian freedom struggle.
Demonstration in PoK
At present, protests are going on against Pakistan and Pakistan Army in many places of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. These include areas like Rawalkot, Kotli, Jhelum Valley, Dadyal, Hazira. Voices are being raised against Pakistan everywhere.
In Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, protests against Pakistan are mainly taking place regarding political rights, economic problems and government repression. The main reason for the protest is the dispute over 12 reserved seats in the assembly, which the local people consider to be interference in their political rights. Apart from this, the agitating organizations are also angry with the ban on JAAC, arrest of leaders and police action.
During one such demonstration on July 5, Pakistani security forces opened fire on the protesters. The video related to this is circulating rapidly on social media.
Now the people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir have appealed to India for help.
On the 26th day of protests in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, senior protest leader Sardar Aman Khan has made a direct appeal to the people of India across the Line of Control. He alleged that Pakistan has stopped the supply of food and medicines to this area for the last three weeks, which has created a humanitarian crisis here.
Addressing a large crowd at the Eidgah Ground in Rawalakot, Khan warned that if the government continued to respond to people’s demands with bullets, they had other options as well. Now the Joint Awami Action Committee has given the administration an ultimatum till July 8. The committee has said that if their demands are not met within the stipulated time, then the next phase of the movement will be announced from the protest site on July 8 and it will be made more comprehensive.
